Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio's Summer romance is over. Both of their reps have confirmed the split, but also made sure to say that the two "remain friends."
The initial rumblings of a relationship between Blake and Leo began at the Cannes Film Festival back in May. Both stars found themselves single there after splitting from their longtime loves — Blake had been broken up with Penn Badgley for months and it had been weeks since Leo's breakup with Bar Refaeli was confirmed.
The Gossip Girl star and A-list actor were captured on camera spending time in France on Steven Spielberg's yacht and out for lunch dates and romantic walks. They then left for Italy, where the new couple packed on the PDA in Verona, went sightseeing at a church, and had their own fun photo shoot, with Blake snapping pics of Leo with her iPhone. There were quickly rumors Leo was completely smitten with his new lady.
Following their whirlwind European vacation, Blake and Leo returned to the US and continued to spend a lot of time together on both coasts during the months of June and July. They had dinner at the Darby in New York and road bikes around the city, and in LA, they went shopping and walking in between Blake's shooting schedule for her film, Savages. There was even talk that Blake had dinner with Leonardo's mom and that she introduced him to her parents!
In late August, Blake and Leo broke out their passports again. Ms. Lively traveled to Australia to celebrate her birthday, which just so happened to be where Leo was working on The Great Gatsby remake. Their relationship may not have gone the distance, but after spending part of Spring and all of Summer globetrotting around the world, the former couple will have plenty of fun memories of their time together.
Meanwhile, Blake is already rumored to be moving on. She was reportedly spotted with her costar from The Green Lantern Ryan Reynolds in New York and Boston over the weekend, including at an outing to the Radiohead concert in NYC, though Ryan was also there with his ex-wife Scarlett Johansson.
