Falling for someone you have never met is a lot easier than you may think. Scammers are incredibly manipulative and have mastered the art of seduction. If you are looking for love online make sure you heed the following tips.
Watch out for these tools a scammer uses:
• They'll have a very attractive photo and profile.
• They'll make you fall in love quickly; they'll be very communicative, supportive, and an intense emotional intimacy will make you feel more loved than possibly ever before.
• They will be out of state or out of the country temporarily.
• They will be doing something altruistic for a family member or the community. A loved one may be sick and they're taking care of them, or they may be working on a wonderful project to help others who are less forfunate.
• They will quickly move you to an outside method of communication, away from the safety of the dating site.
• They will perpetually postpone video chat or meeting in person.
• They'll get defensive and play the victim if you question them.
What you can do:
• Be suspicious and cautious if he or she has an accent. Africa is the source of numerous dating scams. They speak French in many African countries.
• Google their name and any specific community connection they say they have. If you can't verify what he or she has told you assume it isn't true.
• Go to images.google.com, click the camera icon in the search bar and upload their picture to search for it. Don't be surprised to find your "lover's" pictures on a stranger's Facebook page.
• If the first four digits of their phone number start with +4470 that is a forwarding service that you can use from anywhere in the world and make it look like you're in the UK.
• Stop communicating with anyone who doesn't meet you in person or at least video chat within a week or two at most.
