Johannesburg, Jan 18: South African captain AB de Villiers today smashed the fastest half century in One Day International cricket here at Wanderers Stadium, against West Indies. He went to blast a 31-ball 100, another world record. De Villiers blazed his way to a 16-ball 50 to break Sanath Jayasuriya's record. The Sri Lanka had scored 50 off 17 balls against Pakistan in Singapore in 1996. The right-hander went berserk against the West Indies bowlers and struck an unbelievable 149 off just 44 balls (9x4, 16x6). South Africa posted a mammoth 439/2 in 50 overs, falling 4 runs short of team highest in ODIs.
